If you've been thinking about buying this dobro, now is the time! It won't get any cheaper than this so hit me up!
This is an outstanding sounding dobro with a Lace sensor pickup that sounds terrific, as well.
The dobro was handcrafted by Jack (Jim?) Weldrick a luthier out of Montreal known primarily for his wonderful mandolins and guitars.
It has all solid woods including a spruce top, mahogany sides and a beautiful rosewood back and is loud and toneful. There's Grover mini rotomatic tuners installed on the solid wood headstock. Mother of Pearl maple leaf and diamond inlays are on the headstock and fretboard. She has a Beard cone and maple soundwell. The body size is like that of a dobro from the 30's.
This dobro sounds the way a dobro SHOULD sound. I would never sell it if it was a round neck as I prefer using a guitar slide and have not had the patience to make more than a feeble attempt at learning to play proper dobro.
There are the usual scuffs etc. that are present and Weldrick used a light satin type of finish to allow the most tone to come through.
Overall, this is a fantastic instrument that I hate to part with. It is performance ready. Buy it today and gig with it tonight!
I am considering placing it on consignment or on Reverb or the evil bay! This is your chance to check out this excellent instrument in person before buying! Try it, you'll want to take her home (or at least to the prom!)
