This is a Chief Air Industries V360 under the hood air compressor that has a 10 hp 220/440 volt motor.

The V360 turns out 45 cfm with four pistons, two in each head and runs up to 175 lbs of air pressure. This was designed for under the hood of a truck for running 1inch impact guns for changing tires on diesel trucks or whatever else you can think of. No longer have the bracket.

The Marathon heavy duty industrial 10 hp motor that runs on 208, 220 or 440 volt. It can run clockwise or counter clockwise at 1750 rpm. The wiring instructions are on the tag. It is a continuous duty cycle that is thermally protected with a cooling fan that is sealed with protected ball bearings.

Air tank if I remember right is 35 gallon. It fits crossways in a standard Full size pickup bed and is about 15 inches in diameter.

This unit is industrial all the way from the heavy duty motor to the V360 compressor. I tried a 5hp 220 volt electric motor on it and it would run up to 125 but when the compressor wanted to engage it didn't have the guts until I dropped it down to 90 psi and still it grunted and groaned and I could only get 110 psi. This electric motor is high torque and has no problem. I almost think you could run two compressors at once it turns it over so easy. Motor weights 150 lbs.

Comparable Marathon electric motor now is 1,065.00. The docs don't say if it is reversible or thermally protected or not. The top of the line is 1,700.00.

I made the belt cover out of aluminum and it is welded together and goes from the compressor to the motor. The unit has a pressure switch that goes in the AC line to turn the compressor off and on for 220 volt. The V360 under the hood has its own 12 volt pressure switch mounted on it if you wanted to use it under the hood of your truck.

Since this is industrial and kicks out the air big time, 1,000 is a fair price but negotiable. I looked at new 10HP 45cfm and found they start at 3,000.00 and up. I paid 225 for the dryer and regulator.
