Dream$avers Volunteer Description
The IDA "Dream$avers" volunteer will work within the IDA program team to provide one-on-one technical assistance and support to Oregonians who have the desire to apply for an IDA account with NWU.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Receive direct support from the IDA Program Manager.
Development and coordination of targeted outreach, screening, and technical assistance to disadvantaged individuals.
Link services with access to Individual Development Account funds.
Development and facilitation of outreach materials and events.
Travel to all areas where IDA’s are delivered and provide application assistance.
Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in economically and culturally diverse communities and groups.
Proficient in the full Microsoft suite (esp. word and excel)
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work independently
Mileage Stipend is available.
Tax Volunteers Description
Are you interested in learning how to prepare basic tax returns? Do you have some time to volunteer during the upcoming tax season to help those in your community? Serve your community as a volunteer tax preparer!
Currently, NeighborWorks Umpqua is recruiting volunteers to prepare tax returns for low-to-moderate means families in Roseburg through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA). No Professional Experience Required! All volunteers receive FREE and flexible training to become IRS certified, with support provided before, during, and after tax season!
Our Roseburg site is open for appointments at 9 am-1 pm M-F. Our Coastal site is open 9-1 Tue-Sat for appointments and we are open 9-5 on those days for self-prepared taxes. If you have been looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community - look no further!
Rebuilding Together Volunteers Description
NeighborWorks Umpqua is currently looking to fill volunteers in our new build and our Rebuilding Together projects. Skills are helpful but no experience is necessary!!
Rebuilding Together helps people with limited means to be able to stay in their homes safely and securely. No experience required. Our Construction Supervisor or experienced leads will show you how and be available to answer any questions.
New volunteers go through a short orientation on the job site that includes basic tools usage and site safety training. Ongoing training and supervision is provided.
